Lon is the President and Chief Talking Head of K&S Consulting Group, Inc., a transformational talent agency that focuses on training and recruiting talent utilizing "Topgrading" strategies in a Generation NOW environment of "just in time loyalty" helping organizations develop and manage an ETA plan.

 

As the Chief Talking Head of K&S Consulting, Lon’s unique background in the trenches and boardrooms of HealthCare affords him an insightful perspective on the industry. His background as a former professional stand-up comedian has blessed him with the ability to communicate this perspective in an Inspiring, "EnterTraining" and Educational manner.

Lon, previously honored as the Administrator of the Year by the State of Delaware for his work in the healthcare industry has had a progressive 20-year career in health care management and consulting where he received a gubernatorial appointment to serve as the President of a Statewide Licensing Board and provide congressional and senatorial testimony on statewide and national healthcare legislative matters.


Laura Sachs Hills, M.A.

Laura Sachs Hills has been a practice management consultant, author, and seminar speaker for more than 25 years. She is known for her no-nonsense, how-to-do-it style evident in her very popular human resource column in The Journal of Medical Practice Management. Ms. Hills has authored three books, including How to Recruit, Motivate, and Manage a Winning Staff: A Medical Practice How-To Guidebook published by Greenbranch Publishing and practice marketing and management texts published by Prentice-Hall.

Ms. Hills is currently working on her doctoral dissertation on leadership at George Mason University and has extensive teaching experience and training, specializing in adult learners. She is a college professor and teaches oral communication and career success skills. Ms. Hills has also served for more than eight years as the part-time music therapist at a skilled nursing facility where she plays the piano and leads singing of classic Broadway show tunes and jazz standards. Ms. Hills makes her home in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband, Cornell Hills, and their three daughters, Meredith, Alicia, and Victoria. She is actively involved in her local Rotary club and believes she is in the prime of her life.



Owen J. Dahl, FACHE, CHBC

Owen Dahl is a nationally recognized medical practice management consultant with over 25 years experience in consulting and managing medical practices. Dahl received his Bachelors degree in Hospital Administration from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN; his Master’s from the University of Northern Colorado, and has done doctoral work at NOVA Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dahl developed and is the primary instructor of the review course leading to the nationally recognized certified healthcare business consultant designation.  He has taught physicians, medical students and practice managers physician practice management at the University of New Orleans and the LSU Medical School. He is the author of Think Business! Medical Practice Quality, Efficiency, Profits,  called a must have text book! A new publication available as an eBook The Medical Practice Disaster Planning Workbook, includes a narrative and template for the practice to develop a disaster plan. He was an avid runner (knees) and has participated and coached others in several marathons, also a road biker and a swimmer.

Maria K Todd, MHA, PhD is known around the world for her expertise and generosity in sharing ideas, techniques and practical tools with her colleagues in the industry. She is a leading health care industry consultant and described by clients and peers as a visionary and thought leader. Statistically, she is the leading trainer in managed care contracting worldwide.  Since 1989, she has lectured professionally through colleges, universities, seminar companies, publishers and non-profit professional associations as well as on-site private training classes for hospitals, medical groups, offshore revenue cycle business process organizations and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Janice L. Merrill, Attorney at Law

Janice L. Merrill joined Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in 2009 as a shareholder in its Orlando office, where she practices in the areas of medical negligence, long term care, corporate and premises defense, and commercial litigation.

 

Janice has handled complex litigation matters for 24 years in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in Florida and California. She has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in Florida and California before juries and judges. In addition, Janice has handled appeals in the District Courts of Appeal for Florida. 

 

In her career to date, Janice has handled cases in multi-district litigation.  She has represented physicians, nurses, hospitals, mental health professionals, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities in health care liability matters.  Janice has also represented property owners and businesses in premises and general liability matters.

Don has never been convicted of a felony having anything to do with chimpanzees, billy goats, llamas or Hungarian bulldogs.  He does not admit to any tattoos, piercings and his pants are not on the ground with his hat turned sideways.   He will not admit to sending pictures of nekid hamsters to the President and will flatly refuse any claims to that effect if asked by the Secret Service.   He does believe in the American way, likes walks on the beach at night, has been known to shed a tear or two while watching chick flicks and makes a fantastic vegetable medley with just the right amount of olive oil and fresh garlic.

Lynn Pascoe, CPC, CPC-I, CPC-EMS, CCP, is the President of Innovative Medical Practices, LLC, a multi-specialty health care consulting firm located in Linthicum Heights, MD.  Lynn has more than 30 years’ health care management and consulting experience within community-based private practices and major teaching hospitals.  Her areas of expertise include coding, auditing and reimbursement, compliance development, physician and staff training, finance and practice operations.  Lynn has consulted on fraud and abuse cases with the OIG and has been an expert witness for the Department of Justice.  Besides being a certified professional coder, Lynn obtained additional specialty credentials in E&M Coding from the AAPC.  She is a PMCC Approved Instructor for the Academy teaching professional medical coding curriculum for several years.
